Who we are
LockDay is an iPhone app for tasks, calendar and notes on your Lock Screen. In this policy, “LockDay”, “we” and “us” mean the developer of the LockDay app and this website. Questions about privacy: datfam05@gmail.com.
LockDay doesn’t have accounts. You don’t sign up, and we don’t ask for your name, email address or phone number.
Information you create
Tasks, notes, reminders, Lock Screen designs, settings and other content you create in LockDay are stored on your device. LockDay’s widgets and Shortcuts actions on the same device use this information to show it to you. None of it is sent to us.
iCloud sync
If you turn on iCloud sync, LockDay stores your content, together with the information needed to keep your devices in sync (such as a list of the devices that use your data, with their model and iOS version), in the private database of your iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit. Apple handles this data under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We can’t access your iCloud account or the data in it.
You can turn off sync in LockDay’s settings, and delete synced data from your iCloud storage in iOS Settings.
Permissions
LockDay asks for a permission only when you use a feature that needs it. Every permission is optional, and you can change it at any time in iOS Settings.
Calendars
With your permission, LockDay reads events from the calendars on your iPhone, including accounts such as iCloud or Google that you added to iOS, to show them with your tasks, in widgets and on your Lock Screen. It can also add events and completed tasks to a calendar you choose. Calendar data is processed on your device and isn’t sent to us.
Photos
When you choose your own photo, iOS shows its photo picker and gives LockDay only the photo you select. LockDay keeps that photo on your device. LockDay doesn’t request access to your photo library.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your device as local notifications.
Apple Shortcuts and widgets
Features that work with Apple Shortcuts and widgets run on your device. For example, LockDay can hand a Lock Screen image to the Shortcuts app so that automations you create can set it as your wallpaper.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We don’t receive your name, Apple Account details or payment information. LockDay may use a subscription management service provider to confirm which purchases are active; it receives an anonymous app user ID and App Store purchase information, not your content.
Information we receive
LockDay doesn’t include analytics or advertising tools, doesn’t use your device’s advertising identifier and doesn’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We don’t sell or share personal information.
LockDay may download small configuration files from lockday.xyz, such as setup links or service notices. These requests don’t contain your LockDay content. Like any internet request, they reveal your IP address and basic device information to our hosting provider, which may keep standard server logs for security and reliability. The same applies when you visit this website, which doesn’t use cookies or analytics.
If you email us, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to reply and delete them when they’re no longer needed.
Children
LockDay isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Keeping and deleting your information
- On your device: your content stays until you delete it in LockDay or delete the app.
- In iCloud: synced data stays in your iCloud account until you delete it from your iCloud storage settings.
- In Calendar: events LockDay added stay in the Calendar app until you delete them there.
Because we don’t hold your LockDay content, you can access, change or delete it yourself with these controls. If you need help or want to exercise a privacy right, contact us and we’ll reply within 30 days.
Security
Data on your iPhone is protected by iOS, and data in iCloud is protected by Apple’s iCloud security. LockDay is designed so that your content doesn’t pass through our servers.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll also let you know in the app.
